Tasting can be slow work
In our experience Cantina visits can go on as the producers are proud of their wine and want you to appreciate it; this can be a slow process. As a rule of thumb we would advise an absolute maximum of 4 Cantina visits a day and recommend 3 as the optimum particularly if you swallow.

Your choices
Before you arrive, we will agree your itinerary, and take care of:
-Arranging the appointments to meet the wine producers that most suit your taste and budget, and to taste their wine
-Booking your accommodation whether you prefer 5* luxury or something more homely or rustic
-Your restaurant reservations, whether your prefer pizza, simple trattoria style local specialities, or the Michelin* experience. There are hundreds to choose from and we know the best. We can come along to avoid menu, (or lack of menu), misunderstandings but that’s up to you.
-Transport. We will do the driving so you can enjoy the wine. We can drive your car, your hire car or hire a car for you. We can meet you at an airport, train station or your hotel. Your choice
-When in season, we can arrange for you to go Truffle hunting with a local hunter and his dog

Wine Classes Take a Wine Class at Hotel Castello di Sinio - Sommelier Robert Alexander leads 2 new classes this year at the castello. The classes are low committment and high impact and guaranteed to make you love, or expand your appreciation of Piemontese wines!

Piemonte/Langhe Wine Overview
This class gives an in-depth overview of the most important wines here in Langa, with a tasting & examination of each wine: Arneis, Dolcetto, Barbera and Nebbiolo, with the possibility of adding in a Barolo or Barberesco. The overview covers the geographic areas of each wine, the appellations, or DOC & DOCG, and their meaning, as well as soil composition, micro climates, hillside exposition and why it all matters. You will also be lead in an engaging olfactory examination of each wine and discuss in detail the wine type & style.
€75 per person & €10 extra for the Barolo or Barbaresco module. (minimum 2 people)

Advanced Barolo and Barbaresco Class
We offer this class solely on Barolo and Barbaresco, concentrating on the differences and similarities between them, discussing (and tasting!) modern vs traditional & historical approaches, the different crus/terriors/soil composition, micro climates, hillside exposition and why it matters. You will understand the appellations, or DOCG, of both wines and will be able to pinpoint the various villages where these wines are crafted. The class will be lead in a tasting of 3 quality Barbarescos and 3 quality Barolo, for a total of 6 wines, and an in depth examination of each using professional sommelier methods. Finally, you will learn to read Italian wine lables and understand how they compare to other countries. Lots of personally tailored hand-outs of useful information will be given out, yours to take home. €125 per person (minimum 2 people)
